Welcome to Promptbook — your personal prompt engineering workspace. Whether you are crafting the perfect instruction for an AI model, building a reusable library of creative templates, or discovering what other prompt engineers are sharing with the world, Promptbook keeps everything organized, accessible, and powerful in one place.

1. Getting Started & Setup

2. Your Account

Signing In

Promptbook uses Google Sign-In — there is no separate username or password to remember. Your existing Google account is all you need.

Open Promptbook and go to the Settings tab.
Tap the Sign in with Google button under the ACCOUNT section.
Select your Google account and confirm permissions.

Note: Signing in is optional for basic features, but unlocks cloud backup (Profile Sync), Discover feed access, and AI API key management.

3. The Prompting Tab — Writing & Editing

The Prompting tab is your primary workspace:

Title & Body: Add titles and draft your prompt text with real-time word, character, and estimated token counters.
Tags: Assign comma-separated tags to categorize your prompt library.
Auto-Save: Enabled by default to ensure no unsaved edits are lost.
Floating Toolbar: Access Speech-to-Text dictation, AI enhancement, manual save, and sharing with a single tap.

4. Library & Discover Feed

My Prompts & Remixed: View your original creations and prompts cloned from the community.
Discover Feed: Browse shared prompts, search by keyword, filter by category tags (#ChatGPT, #Coding, #Marketing), and hit Remix to make your own version.

5. AI Prompt Enhancement & Speech Dictation

AI Enhancement: Configure a Google Gemini or OpenAI API key in Settings → API Keys. Tap the Enhance button to automatically optimize your draft for tone, format, and clarity.
Speech Dictation: Tap the Microphone button to dictate prompts hands-free. Audio is processed on-device and never stored or uploaded.

Data Minimisation Guarantee: We only collect data that is functionally necessary to deliver core application features.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Data (Directly Provided by You)

1.2 Technical & Usage Data

Device Advertising ID (Ad ID): Used by Google Mobile Ads SDK for serving relevant ads in the Discover feed.
App Version & Metadata: Read locally via Firebase Remote Config for version checks.
Network Connectivity Status: Checked before attempting cloud sync or API operations.

2. How We Use Information

Authentication: Google Sign-In credentials authenticate your session and scope your cloud prompt data securely.
Cloud Backup & Sync: Profile Sync backs up your prompts to Google Cloud Firestore under users/{userId}/prompts.
Public Discover Feed: Prompts you explicitly publish are shared in the public collection (public_prompts).
AI Enhancement: Prompt text sent via the Enhance button is transmitted over HTTPS to your chosen AI provider (Gemini/OpenAI) using your personal API key.

3. Data Security & Retention

Encryption in Transit: All API and Firebase requests use HTTPS/TLS encryption and OAuth 2.0 token exchange.
Local Encryption: Local prompts and API keys are stored securely on-device in Hive binary storage and never sent to our servers.
Retention: Local data stays until cleared by you. Synced cloud data remains active while Profile Sync is enabled.

4. User Rights & Account Deletion (Google Play Compliance)

You have full rights over your personal data under GDPR, CCPA, and Google Play Store policies:

In-App Sync Control: Toggle Profile Sync off in Settings to stop further automatic cloud synchronization of your written prompts, keeping your prompts stored locally on your device only.
Account & Cloud Data Deletion Request: In compliance with Google Play Store User Data Policies, you may request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated cloud-stored data by sending an email to kasthurilabsofficial@gmail.com with the subject "Promptbook Account Deletion Request". Upon receiving your request, we will permanently purge your account and cloud prompt records within 30 days.
